Yes...its me...im stil alive!lol haha

Wow, its been way too long since ive last written on here...well, thats all gonna change now -promise! Im gonna use the excuse that ive been locked away recording and getting this EP ready...and now its finally finished...im free to fill you in with all my adventures again =)

So before i go any further...please let me introduce to you...the offical Jill Deering debut EP!

Well...what has Jill been doing these past few months!?? Well, there was honesty in that previous statement - as i was busy finishing off the EP...getting the art work done for the cd and now im in the middle of getting my show ready. Which by the way is on the 26TH NOV. IN WHELANS!!! so put that in your diaries and come along, as its gonna be a wicked show! full band and a great support act (Stacey Gill). Its only 5Euro at the door! what a steal, great price for a whole night of entertainment...plus, ill be selling a hard copies of my EP...and if you're lucky, i just might 'high-five' you! haha =)

Over the past few months ive been doing the odd gig, like the Ruby Sessions (which was awesome, so much fun!) but now the EP is ready and in full swing, we're gonna be out there doing a lot more - so im very excited!

I was also in New York again during the month of September - a little break away to see my friends and the city that im in love with! =) Got to see some fantastic gigs when i was over there - Damien Rice...amazing! and my all time idol...Patty Griffin, live in Central Park on a warm September evening...magical! was the best night ever.
Aw seeing these artist play, just made me want this even more and dream bigger (I so wanna play over in the states..its just a must have on the wish list!)

So thats pretty much all that ive been doing really...but next week is gonna be busy busy with getting the final things sorted for the 26th...but there'll be plenty of posts leading up to it...and of course detailed account of the night too =)

Tim Easton support gig (13th May)

Aw what a gig! soooo much fun! great crowd and was in flyinig form myself...so all in all...it was a very positive night! To be honest, it was weird at first being up there on my own...havent played a gig where its just me, for 3 years! so it was all very interesting...but by the time the first song was over, i was home again and it felt good.
A huge thanks to those who came and cheered me on! It was so wonderful to have your support that night!

Duke Special

Last thursday night...i went to an amazing gig in the Tripod (never been there before - GREAT venue!) to see Duke Special and man they blew me away...what entertainers!! the music was so intense at times in some songs and then in others...it was just fun! was a real honor to be in that room...
You HAVE TO go see these guys play if you missed out on that show!

These guys were great last night in Whelans! Didnt really know what to expect - but man, can they entertain a crowd! fantastic sound...real feel good music. I checked out their myspace (www.myspace.com/eathamsandwich) but it doesnt do them justice...much better live - and im so glad i heard them first that way! A bit of a weird name...not liking it too much - but at the end of the day, its just a name - you totally forget about that when you hear their stuff. I have a feeling they're gonna be big. Next time you see a poster for a Ham Sandwich gig...i recommend you check these guys out!

ps - he is wearing clothes behind that guitar..incase some of you are wondering! haha

Poor Britters!

well, well, well....Britney has certainly made her mark on the world again..! I just dont get it though, she constantly complains about people being in her face and criticising her every move...but if you go out and shave your head in public, hit a tatoo joint in a very popular and busy area...you're asking for it! The girl is screaming for help though...she is running a well built brand into the ground by the second. And is giving her name a bad rep...its really sad to see actually.

My heart really goes out to her though...im a fan of the girl, i think she is an amazing entertainer - but she is wrecking herself and seriously needs to take a proper breather from the public eye!
Bring back Larry Rudolph so he can sort out your career Britters!

Ok.....its official..i have FINALLY finished my thesis!! woohoo...its a good day! Thank you Lord that its all done!
Ok, so most of you know ive written my thesis on creating the ultimate pop 'Brand' (everything I dont wana be!!) dont get me wrong, i love my pop! but that music is just fun - they're just entertainers! Anyway...I came across this video and website during my research. Its a documentary on commercialized music - how the pop industry has become fake and just really not about the music! This dvd is great...and gives a good insite into the pop industry. So check out the website. www.b4md.com

Hello again!
Firstly, i just wana say a huge thank you to everyone who came last night to Afterglow in St.Marks - it was a great night and such a good turnout - so thanks!
Ok, next gig....Whelans 13th Nov (next monday) 8/10 Euro at the door (not too sure how much they're gona charge) and there's four acts in total - im last on at 10.30pm. I know its a late one, plus its a week night...but it would be super to see you all there!
PLUS.... we have someone very cool and exciting playing with me on stage that night...James McMarrow - a very talented singer/songwriter (go check out his myspace, he's off the hook!) he'll be playing drums with us and who knows - might drag him out to sing with me on one number! We also have the wonderful Katie Cummins playing violin that night too...the jill deering family is getting bigger and its all very exciting!

Ok folks, hopefully ill see you there and if not, then maybe at the next one!

Well im back from New York :( I struggled to get on the plane! Had the most amazing time ever. Saw the people i love dearly and got to spend good quality time with them - plus did a bit of music hunting while i was over there, checked out a few places and made myself known for when i head over again. So it was a very fulfilling trip! Oh and i also got to step inside the famous CBGB's! sadly it has now closed down and is in the process of being shipped to Los Vegas - but i got to admire the written walls and the well worn stage of New Yorks most famous rockstar hangouts of all time - i was a very happy camper!

ok, well its back to business here and ive got another gig just around the corner....

'Afterglow' in St.Marks church on the 5th Nov at 7.30pm

Hope you can make it...its free in and its gonna be a nice chilled out gig!

Just thought id leave a quick note before I head off...soooo excited! Gonna be living it up in my favourite city for a whole week! As for last week in the Legal Eagle, it was AMAZING. Such a great turn out and we raised alot of money for Emma's trip. Thank you SO much for coming and giving your money to such a great cause. Huge thank you to Jay and Jenny Wilson who rocked it up on stage that night, you guys were (as always!) brill!!
I'll hopefully get my hands on some pictures or video's of the night when i get back and post them up, but for now....I must catch a flight!!!!

The Legal Eagle

Its been a while, but our next gig is finally here. So put it in your diary....the 13th of Oct at the Legal Eagle, 8.30pm. 10 Euro at the door.
I have the wonderful and talented Jay Wilson doing an acoustic set before hand, then ill rock it up (hopefully!) with my guys to end the night. Now this aint no ordinary gig...this is a super fundraiser in Aid of the Healing Wheels Project Calcutta, developed and supported by a very dear and close friend of mine, Dr. Emma Blake. She will be giving a small talk during the night about her journey to India and where your money will be going.
So please come and support us in this fantastic night that takes place next friday....and bring your mates!

Let me introduce to you Mr.Chris O'Sullivan. An extremely talented guitarist and im honoured to be able to share the stage with this guy. He brings my songs to higher levels and has such a heart and passion for music - its very inspiring.

We have just started to write together and have produced our first co-written track 'Beautiful'. We've really formed a vision and sound for our style of music and i must say.. im very excited!

Chris and myself have been playing together for a year now and we're in the process of putting together our first EP... And hopefully an album next...but that might be for a while! thats in God's hands. So ill keep you posted with our adventures and gigs - so stay tuned!
